The Roland MPU-401 has consistently been an industry standard for MIDI interfaces in PC based music applications. The brand-new MPU-401/AT is downward compatible with the MPU-401 so it can be used with virtually all applications and files accumulated. On top of that, it functions as a sound card if a sound daughterboard is added.

The new MPU-401/AT is fully compatible with the industry-standard MPU-401, so it can be used with most PC-based sequencing software available and data assets you have. It provides very stable MIDI data transfer to function as an all-round player to cope efficiently with hobbyist and professional applications.
UPGRADE TO SOUND CAPABILITY.
With the MPU-401/AT, you can even increase the number of sounds you can access. Connecting a Roland SCB-7 or SCB-55 daughterboard to the MPU-401/AT's connector will convert it to a General MIDI compatible sound card or a SCC-1 equivalent GS sound card known for its sound quality, at your choice. The stereo RCA output is activated when the SCB-7 or SCB-55 is connected.
The MPU-401/AT has mini DIN connectors to enable direct connection with MIDI equipment. All required cables are included. The MPU-401/AT also provides a convenient headphone jack which activates when an SCB-7 or SCB-55 is connected.
